Hormone's hidden role: could progesterone shape muscle growth?
NCT ID NCT07173361
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This early-stage study looks at whether the hormone progesterone changes how muscles build protein after resistance exercise. Twenty healthy women aged 18-30 will take either progesterone pills or a placebo, then do leg exercises. Researchers will take small muscle samples to measure the effect. The goal is to understand basic muscle biology, not to treat a disease.
