Zapping away stroke pain before it starts

NCT ID NCT07202455

Summary

This study tests whether a gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS, given during standard rehabilitation, can prevent the development of chronic nerve pain after a stroke. It will involve 60 people who recently had a stroke and do not yet have nerve pain. Participants will receive either real or fake (sham) stimulation during their therapy sessions to see if the real treatment reduces their risk of developing pain six months later.
