First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether checking and improving nutrition before surgery can help people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) recover faster and have fewer problems after their operation. About 150 adults having IBD-related intestinal surgery will be offered nutritional shakes and guidance. The goal is to see if this approach reduces complications like infections and bleeding, and shortens time in the hospital.
