Summary
This study looks at whether checking and improving nutrition before surgery can lower the risk of problems after bowel surgery for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). About 150 adults having planned bowel surgery will be offered nutritional shakes and guidance. The goal is to see if this approach shortens hospital stays and reduces serious complications like infections or bleeding.
