Could a potato powder ease liver disease brain fog?
NCT ID NCT06425380
Summary
This small Mayo Clinic study is testing if a dietary supplement made from potato starch can help people with advanced liver disease (cirrhosis) who experience episodes of confusion or brain fog, known as hepatic encephalopathy. Researchers want to see if the starch changes gut bacteria and related chemicals, which might improve brain function. Participants will take the supplement for 4 weeks while providing health information and stool samples.
