NCT ID NCT06425380

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special potato starch supplement can change gut bacteria in people with cirrhosis who have had episodes of confusion (hepatic encephalopathy). Eleven participants will take the starch for 4 weeks, and researchers will measure changes in stool and thinking tests. The goal is to learn how the starch works in the body, not to treat the condition directly.
