New drug combo shows promise for tough head and neck cancers
NCT ID NCT03082534
First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested a combination of two drugs, pembrolizumab and cetuximab, in 78 adults with advanced head and neck cancer that had spread or come back. The goal was to see if the combo could shrink tumors or slow the disease. Patients were grouped based on whether they had tried similar drugs before. The approach aims to control the disease, not cure it, as ongoing treatment is needed.
