First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a para-probiotic toothpaste and mouthwash can improve gum health and blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes and gum disease. Forty participants will receive standard gum treatment and then use either the probiotic products or a standard antiseptic rinse for 15 days. Researchers will measure gum health and blood sugar levels over 6 months to see if the probiotic approach offers extra benefits.
