Lab-Grown organoids could personalize pancreatic cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT05351983
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at whether it is safe and possible to grow mini-tumors (organoids) from pancreatic cancer samples in the lab. 60 patients with pancreatic cancer provided tumor tissue during surgery or biopsy. Researchers then tested different chemotherapy drugs on these organoids to see which ones might work best. However, the results did not change the actual treatment patients received, which followed standard guidelines. The goal was to see if this process could be used in the future to personalize care.
