Duke launches major study to help doctors have better End-of-Life talks
NCT ID NCT05879211
Summary
This study aims to find better ways for doctors to talk with seriously ill patients about their care goals and preferences. It will test different communication strategies with 5,000 Duke Health patients who have conditions like cancer, heart failure, COPD, or dementia. The research focuses on when and how often these important conversations happen, particularly in the final months of life.
