New combo could keep you Pain-Free longer after surgery

NCT ID NCT07099222

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a second medicine (dexmedetomidine) to the standard nerve block medicine (dexamethasone) can make pain relief last longer after shoulder, foot, or ankle surgery. About 100 adults will receive either the combo or the standard block, then report their pain, side effects, and painkiller use for a week. The goal is to improve comfort and reduce the need for opioid painkillers.
