Summary
This study tested whether adding ozone gas to a standard deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) helps treat stubborn gum pockets in people with advanced gum disease. Twenty-six adults with stage III or IV periodontitis and pockets 5mm or deeper took part. Researchers measured gum health and bacteria levels at 3 and 6 months to see if ozone made a difference.
