NCT ID NCT07551115

First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study checks how often two tiny parasites (Entamoeba gingivalis and Trichomonas tenax) are found in the mouths of people with and without gum disease. Researchers will collect spit and plaque samples from 120 adults and look at them under a microscope. The goal is to learn if these parasites are linked to worse gum health, which could help dentists in the future.
