New gum surgery aims to save teeth from bone loss

Summary

This study tests a modified surgical technique (NIPSA) combined with a gum graft and special proteins to treat advanced gum disease and bone loss. About 40 adults with periodontitis will receive the procedure. The goal is to reduce deep gum pockets and improve gum attachment, which may help control the disease and prevent tooth loss.
