Tracking Babies' futures: how newborn seizures affect childhood development

NCT ID NCT04337697

Summary

This study followed children who had seizures as newborns to understand how these early seizures affect long-term development. Researchers tracked about 280 children from nine U.S. hospitals, assessing their thinking skills, behavior, and daily living abilities as they grew. The study also examined how parent well-being might influence children's development and identified factors that increase risk for disabilities like cerebral palsy or intellectual disability.
