NCT ID NCT07264790

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether applying minoxidil (a hair growth cream) to the breasts for two weeks before surgery can improve blood flow and tissue survival during breast reconstruction. Twenty-five women at high genetic risk for breast cancer who are having both breasts removed and reconstructed will participate. Each woman will apply the cream to one breast and a placebo to the other, and neither she nor her doctors will know which is which. The main goal is to see if this approach is feasible and safe.
