Mindfulness may ease postnatal depression without drugs

NCT ID NCT04332146

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested an 8-week mindfulness program for 70 Chinese women with postnatal depressive symptoms. Half took the mindfulness course, while the other half received a booklet with general advice. Researchers measured depression, anxiety, stress, and thinking skills at the start, after 8 weeks, and 3 months later. The goal was to see if mindfulness could improve mood and mental function better than simple education.
