Summary

This study compares a long-acting opioid (methadone) to standard short-acting opioids for pain control in 60 children aged 6 months to 4 years undergoing cleft palate repair. The goal is to see if methadone reduces the total amount of opioids needed after surgery. The study is currently recruiting at Duke University.
