Scientists watch memory fade: drug reveals Brain's time cells

NCT ID NCT05594017

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at how a drug called scopolamine affects brain activity during memory tasks. About 60 adults with epilepsy who are already having brain surgery for seizure monitoring will take part. They will receive either the drug or a saltwater solution on different days, then perform memory tests while their brain activity is recorded. The goal is to understand which parts of memory formation the drug changes and how the brain's electrical signals shift.
