Can a simple vitamin boost ease bipolar depression?

NCT ID NCT05837104

Summary

This study is testing whether adding an over-the-counter magnesium and vitamin B6 supplement to standard treatment helps reduce depression, anxiety, and stress in people who have recently experienced their first episode of bipolar I disorder. Researchers will compare the supplement to a placebo (inactive pill) in 40 participants over 4 weeks. They will also use brain scans to see if the supplement affects brain chemistry related to energy.
