New drug shows promise for shingles nerve pain

Summary
This study tested an experimental drug called LX9211 in 79 adults with postherpetic neuralgia, a type of nerve pain that can last for months after a shingles rash heals. The goal was to see if the drug reduces pain and helps with sleep compared to a placebo over 11 weeks. Participants had moderate to severe pain for at least 3 months.
