First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at 77 adults with long-term nerve pain after shingles (postherpetic neuralgia) to see which patients benefit most from a treatment called dorsal root ganglion stimulation. Researchers used pain questionnaires and medical history to group patients by their pain type. The goal was to find clues that predict success, so this expensive and invasive therapy can be used more wisely.
