Study investigates hidden health risks for children of transplant mothers

NCT ID NCT07291258

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at the long-term health of children (16 years and older) whose mothers had a solid organ transplant before pregnancy. Researchers want to see if these children have higher risks for heart or kidney problems, possibly due to the mother's transplant or medications. About 200 participants will have one-time physical tests and provide blood, urine, and stool samples. The goal is to better understand any health effects and improve future counseling for transplant patients considering pregnancy.
