Summary
This study tested two different lasers (Nd:YAG and diode) for treating stage II gum disease. 33 adults with deep gum pockets received one of the laser treatments or standard cleaning. Both lasers improved gum health, but the Nd:YAG laser was better at reducing certain harmful bacteria. The goal was to control the disease, not cure it.
