Brain fuel switch: could ketones outsmart sugar slowdown?
NCT ID NCT07546409
First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether older adults with prediabetes have slower brain energy use and thinking speed compared to those with normal blood sugar. Researchers will give a single dose of a ketone drink to see if it temporarily improves brain function. The study involves 20 participants aged 60-75 and uses brain scans to measure changes. It aims to understand early brain changes, not to treat or cure any condition.
