What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ketamine
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a new treatment option for methamphetamine use disorder, offering a way to reduce use and support recovery.
What could go wrong
This is an early phase 2 trial with only 120 people, so results may not apply broadly. Ketamine can cause side effects like dissociation or nausea, and the benefit over placebo is uncertain.
