Summary

This study looks at people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) who have gene variants that reduce their ability to digest starch and sugar. Researchers want to see if these individuals have a smaller rise in blood sugar after a meal and more bowel symptoms compared to those with normal digestion. About 70 participants will eat a sugary breakfast and have their blood sugar measured over two hours, while also reporting any symptoms.
