NCT ID NCT07309601

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) who have gene variants that may reduce their ability to digest starch and sugar. Researchers want to see if these individuals have a smaller rise in blood sugar after a meal and more bowel symptoms compared to those with normal digestion. About 70 participants will eat a sugary breakfast and have blood samples taken over two hours. The goal is to better understand how these gene differences affect IBS symptoms.
