Toothpaste showdown: natural mineral vs. fluoride for Kids' teeth
NCT ID NCT07177053
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study compares a fluoride-free hydroxyapatite toothpaste to standard fluoride toothpaste for repairing enamel in children aged 6-12 with a common tooth defect called Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH). MIH causes sensitive, discolored teeth that are prone to cavities. The trial will measure how well each toothpaste remineralizes the enamel over 12 months using special imaging and sensitivity tests. The goal is to find a safe, effective alternative for parents concerned about fluoride.
