New hybrid heart procedure tested for Tough-to-Treat AFib in heart failure patients
NCT ID NCT05411614
First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests if a two-step hybrid ablation procedure works better than standard catheter ablation for controlling heart rhythm in people with persistent atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat) and heart failure. About 120 adults with enlarged left atria and reduced heart pumping function will be randomly assigned to one of the two procedures. The main goal is to see which approach better prevents long episodes of irregular heartbeat without needing rhythm-control medications.
