First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether adding hyaluronic acid gel to standard deep-cleaning treatment helps gums heal better in smokers with advanced gum disease. Researchers will compare gum pockets treated with the gel plus cleaning versus cleaning alone in 23 participants. They will measure changes in gum pocket depth, attachment level, and markers of inflammation and bacteria over 6 months.
