First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study explores how a natural heart hormone, called natriuretic peptide, influences metabolism and exercise in people with different genetic makeups. Researchers will measure hormone levels and energy use in 200 adults after a sugary drink and exercise. The goal is to understand why some people are at higher risk for heart disease and diabetes, especially those with lower hormone levels.
