Scientists to test if yogurt viruses can rescue gut health after antibiotics
NCT ID NCT07212400
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study collects stool samples from 4 healthy adults to see how tiny viruses found in dairy products (called phages) affect gut bacteria in a lab dish. Researchers will also test what happens when antibiotics are added. The goal is to learn whether these food-based phages could help restore a healthy gut after antibiotic use. No treatment is given to participants—only stool donation is involved.
