Simple gelatin sponge may ease swelling after wisdom tooth surgery

Summary
This study tested whether placing a gelatin sponge in the tooth socket after removing an impacted wisdom tooth reduces swelling compared to using stitches alone. Sixty adults aged 18 to 30 with swelling on the side of the impaction took part. Swelling was measured from the jaw angle to the lip corner. The goal is to improve patient comfort and safety after surgery.
