First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested the safety and effectiveness of injecting the antifungal drug fluconazole directly into the cornea to treat fungal keratitis, a serious eye infection. Forty patients with lab-confirmed fungal keratitis that was sensitive to fluconazole took part. The approach aims to control the infection and improve vision, but ongoing management may still be needed.
