Glow-in-the-Dark dye could help surgeons remove more brain tumor

NCT ID NCT07499141

First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looked at medical records of 41 people who had surgery for aggressive brain tumors (high-grade gliomas). Surgeons sometimes use a special dye that makes tumor tissue glow, helping them tell it apart from healthy brain. The goal was to see if using this dye leads to more complete tumor removal, as confirmed by MRI scans. The study did not test a new treatment, but rather reviewed past surgeries to understand if the dye helps improve outcomes.
