Fast MRI boosts early liver cancer detection in High-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT05095714

First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study compares standard ultrasound monitoring to ultrasound plus a short, 10-minute MRI (Fast-MRI) for detecting early-stage liver cancer in people with cirrhosis who are at high risk. About 944 participants will be followed for several years to see which method finds more early cancers, improves survival, and is cost-effective. The goal is to catch liver cancer early enough for curative treatment, potentially changing how high-risk patients are screened worldwide.
