Quick MRI could spot liver cancer sooner in At-Risk patients
NCT ID NCT05095714
First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether a short, 10-minute MRI scan (Fast-MRI) can detect early-stage liver cancer better than the standard ultrasound in people with cirrhosis who are at high risk. About 944 participants will be randomly assigned to get either ultrasound alone or ultrasound plus Fast-MRI every six months. The goal is to see if Fast-MRI finds more treatable cancers and is worth the extra cost.
