Exercise may boost Fear-Fighting brain power in anxious adults

NCT ID NCT05203731

First seen Mar 03, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looked at whether exercise helps adults with high anxiety and anxiety disorders (like generalized anxiety, panic, or social anxiety) better learn to overcome fear. 54 participants either exercised or sat quietly after a fear-learning task. Researchers measured skin responses and heart rate to see if exercise improved how well the brain remembers that a once-scary cue is now safe.
