Summary
This study tested a smartphone-based prayer program called PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens) to help adults with sickle cell disease reduce stress and pain. Forty participants who reported pain and used opioids were included. The goal was to see if adding prayer to standard care could improve pain, sleep, and stress while possibly reducing the need for painkillers.
