NCT ID NCT03431467
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at people in cardiogenic shock, a life-threatening condition where the heart can't pump enough blood. All participants received a standard heart-lung machine (VA-ECMO). Half also got an extra pump (Impella CP) to help the heart rest and recover. The goal was to see if the extra pump helped more people survive without needing long-term heart support or a transplant. The study was stopped early after enrolling 17 people.
