Summary
This study tested whether a single dose of the steroid dexamethasone, given before laparoscopic gynecologic surgery, can reduce vomiting in the first 24 hours after the operation. 120 women took part, receiving either the drug or a placebo. The goal was to see if this simple, low-cost approach could ease a common and distressing side effect of surgery.
