Summary

This study tests whether a dental cleaning shortly after a stem cell transplant can prevent chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a serious condition where donor cells attack the patient's body. Researchers think bacteria in dental plaque may trigger GVHD. The trial will enroll 45 adults receiving a transplant for blood cancer and will check if the cleaning is feasible and reduces GVHD risk.
