New combo therapy freezes out desmoid tumors

NCT ID NCT05949099

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study tests a two-step treatment for desmoid tumors, which are non-cancerous growths that can cause pain and limit movement. First, participants take a daily oral drug called nirogacestat. Then, a single freezing procedure (cryoablation) is used to destroy the tumor. The goal is to see if this combination can stop the tumor from growing or shrink it for at least a year. About 28 adults with progressing or symptomatic tumors will take part.
