Which filling lasts longer in Kids' teeth? a Head-to-Head test
NCT ID NCT07761897
First seen Aug 12, 2026 · Last updated Aug 13, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests three types of tooth-colored fillings in children's baby molars to see which performs best. It compares a preheated bulk-fill composite with two indirect composite systems, looking at how well they hold up, how they look, and whether they cause any problems. The study includes healthy children aged 4 to 10 with cavities in their back teeth. The goal is to find the most durable and aesthetically pleasing option for restoring primary teeth.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Preheated thermoviscous bulk-fill composite and two indirect composite systems used for dental restorations
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could identify which filling material lasts longer and looks better for children's baby teeth, improving dental care for kids.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial, and results may not apply to all children. Fillings can fail over time, and the study's follow-up period may be too short to capture long-term outcomes.
