First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study compared two methods for taking a liver tissue sample and measuring liver blood pressure in 58 adults with chronic liver disease or portal hypertension. One method uses an endoscope passed through the mouth (EUS), the other uses a catheter inserted through a neck vein (transjugular). The goal was to see if the newer EUS method works as well as the standard approach.
