First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at two methods for taking a small sample of liver tissue and measuring blood pressure in the liver. The new method uses an endoscope (a thin tube with a camera) guided by ultrasound, while the standard method goes through a vein in the neck. The goal was to see which method works better for getting good samples and reliable pressure readings. The study involved 58 adults with chronic liver disease or high blood pressure in the liver.
