New DNA sequencer put to the test against gold standard in cancer genetics

NCT ID NCT07160010

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study will check if a newer, cheaper DNA sequencing machine (MGI) gives the same results as the current standard (Illumina) when testing for genetic changes linked to breast, ovarian, and other cancers. Researchers will use leftover DNA samples from 248 patients who already had genetic testing. The goal is to see if the MGI platform is a reliable alternative for diagnosing hereditary conditions.
