NCT ID NCT06861075

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study is testing if a blood pressure medicine called carvedilol can lower dangerously high pressure in the liver veins of people with cirrhosis. Researchers will use a special ultrasound probe during an endoscopy to measure the pressure before and after one month of taking the daily pill. The goal is to see if this treatment can help prevent life-threatening internal bleeding, which is a major risk for people with advanced liver disease.
