Summary
This study looks at how breastfeeding changes cholesterol and heart disease risk in women with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH), a genetic condition causing very high cholesterol. Researchers will follow 50 pregnant women (with and without FH) from late pregnancy through one year after giving birth, collecting blood and breast milk samples. The goal is to understand if breastfeeding affects heart health differently in these women and how cholesterol-lowering medication passes into breast milk.
